Hunted Blog Tour: Review + Giveaway

Hey! So today's my stop in the Hunted Blog Tour. I've got a review and yup, a giveaway for you guys! Read on to find out more!

Caitlyn is a telepath in a world where having any Paranormal power is illegal. Caitlyn is on the run from government troopers, who can enslave, torture, or even kill her, or make her hunt other Paranormals. When Caitlyn settles down in a city, she falls for Alex, a Normal (someone without Paranormal powers), which is dangerous because he can turn her in. And she discovers renegade Paranormals who want to destroy all Normals. Caitlyn must decide whether she's going to stay in hiding to protect herself, or take a stand to save the world.
The Review
The Bad
The romance. This was my only issue in this story. The romance between Caitlyn and Alex felt a bit like insta-love to me. Well, I don't really think it was as extreme as other books I've read, but still felt a bit like it. Their attraction was a tad bit unbelievable at first, but later on, it grew on me, and I began to like their romance together.

The Good
The plot. Aside from the above, I loved everything else. I really liked the book's plot. Hunted was a fast-paced read, with tons of exciting action in it. It didn't have those dull moments a lot of other YA books had, and most of the time, characters had to race against the clock in a matter of life and death.

The Awesome
The concept. Yes, it had the whole super evil government almost all dystopian books have. But aside from that, Hunted had an original concept. Society is divided into two- the Paras, who have supernatural abilities, and the Normals, who are oridnary human beings. Toss in one kick-butt heroine with the evil brother, and everything's complete!

The message. Above everything else, this book sent a great message to everyone. I actually didn't notice it until I read the Author's Note at the end, but then I realized how obvious it was. Hunted tells us to fight for freedom and to never give up hope. Cheryl Rainfeld portrays it in the Para VS Normal fight in the story, but that's what Hunted is ultimately all about, and I loved it.

The Rating
4 stars! I have to admit, I had my doubts at first. I just thought I'd like the book- I never thought I'd actually love it! It was an enjoyable and quick read, because once I started reading, I couldn't put it down! I devoured it in less than 48 hours, maybe less if I had the time!

Project Tell Taylor!

Michelle Madow's debut novel Remembrance was inspired by Taylor Swift's "Love Story" music video. She talked all about it in a blog entry a few months ago, discussing how Remembrance was inspired by Taylor Swift's "Love Story" music video. She even wrote a letter to Taylor Swift and sent it to her, along with a signed book!

Lizzie Davenport has been reincarnated from Regency Era, England ... but she doesn't know it yet.
Then Drew Carmichael transfers into Lizzie's high school at the beginning of the year, and she feels a connection to him, almost like she knows him. She can't stop thinking about him, but whenever she tries talking with him about the mysteries behind her feelings, he makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with her. Reaching him is even more difficult because she has a boyfriend, Jeremy, who has started to become full of himself after being elected co-captain of the varsity soccer team, and her flirtatious best friend Chelsea starts dating Drew soon after his arrival. So why can't she get him out of her mind?

Even though Lizzie knows she should let go of her fascination with Drew, fighting fate isn't going to be easy.
It's been a few months now, and she has yet to hear back from Taylor that she received the letter and book. She really wants to tell Taylor about how inspiring she and her music have been to her, but since Taylor Swift is an international superstar, she’s a little hard to reach. This is where YOUR help comes into play! Michelle is giving away the biggest prize pack she's offered yet, and the ways to enter to win are by telling Taylor Swift about Remembrance.

The Goal: Get Taylor Swift to Tweet about Remembrance!

So I personally haven't read Remembrance yet, but it sounds awesome. The way how a book was inspired by a music video is amazing! I mean, I get inspired too. Books inspire me. Music inspires me... Erm, come to think of it, I don't really know what really inspires me! But I gotta say, a music video is something that I'd never have thought of!

Anyway, look at the awesome prizes she's offering as incentives! So spread the word and fill out the Rafflecopter form below to be entered! Good luck! :D (Click Read More if you're reading this from my home page!)

Dazzling Read's Amazing Giveaway

A giveaway post. Hmm... I don't usually do this, but in this case, I want to win. Badly. Look at the choices! Shatter Me, The Pledge, The Scorpio Races, Dearly Departed, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, Daughter of Smoke and Bone... These are some of the books on my top wishlist! And normally, I don't do those additional entries, because those annoy me, but in this case, I'll make an exception. ;)

*sigh* The things I do for books...

Click on the pic to be redirected to the original post. Good luck! :)
