Top 10 Books I’m Looking Forward to in 2012

Hey! This year, I'm participating in this event called Top 10 of 2011, hosted by Rachel from FiktshunJessica from Confessions of a Bookaholic Lisa from A Life Bound By Books, and Jaime & Patricia from Two Chicks on Books. Basically, you just recap your favorite books, covers and characters.

So today's topic is Top 10 Books I’m Looking Forward to in 2012. There are so many new releases that I'm excited to read!

Okay, so I couldn't keep it at 10. So sue me. I didn't even include books with no cover, but if I did, Before I Wake by Rachel Vincent and Embers and Echoes by Karsten Knight would be on top of the list. And this wasn't arranged in any particular order, because if I had, I'd have gone crazy deciding. But yeah, these books sound amazing, and I just can't wait to get my hands on them! :D

Top 10 Third Wheels

Today, I can list anything that relates to characters. So, I'm gonna be listing my Top 10 Third Wheels, characters who never found love at the end of the story, never got the girl, or are currently on the losing side of the love triangle. As usual, click on them to go to Goodreads.

10. Jace from Shifters
Okay, I'm not that sure with this one. I've only read the first three books so far, but Jace seemed like a third wheel to me. Hopefully he ends up with someone, but I have yet to read Alpha.

9. Cal from Hex Hall
At least, that's what I think. I really think Sophie and Archer will end up together, but I have yet to read Spell Bound... Maybe Cal will find some nice girl. Who knows?

8. Jacob from Twilight
Yeah, I just couldn't resist putting this. Yeah, I know he imprinted on Bella's daughter (which is just sick and wrong) but he will forever remain a third wheel to me.

7. Simon from The Mortal Instruments
Yeah, I know he gets not only one, but two 'girlfriends' in CoFA, but in the first three books, poor Simon was totally a third wheel.

6. Dess from The Midnighters
Poor Dess. She doesn't end up with anyone. Though I'm guessing she's happy with her math... Though Scott Westerfeld ended this series cruelly for Jessica and Jonathan. You'll know what I mean if you've read it. :)

5. Logan from Shade
Team Kilt all the way! :D I haven't actually read Shift yet, and Shine's not even out, but Logan feels like the third wheel to me. Zach and Aura are perfect for each other!

4. Paul from The Mediator
I hated Paul. I did NOT want him to end up with Suze. Well, technically he ended up with Kelly, so now I just feel sorry for the guy.

3. Jem from The Infernal Devices
I haven't actually read this book yet, but based on CA, Jem didn't have anybody. I've read somewhere that there's a love triangle in CP, but I have yet to find out.

2. Puck from The Iron Fey
I'm still in the second book, but I already know Ash and Megan end up together. I actually have no idea if Puck falls in love with anyone else.

1. Gale from the Hunger Games
Gale is the ULTIMATE third wheel. He does not end up with anybody. Not with Katniss, not with another girl- he just moves to another city. All alone. Cruel much, Collins?

So that's it. :) Though I gotta say, I feel bad for those guys...

Top 10 Book Boyfriends in 2011

Ooh, I love this one- Top 10 Book Boyfriends on 2011! Click on the book cover to be taken to its Goodreads page, and the fan art to the owner's blog. So without further ado...

10. David from The Specialists

9. Zachary Moore from Shade

 8. Four from Divergent

7. Cassel Sharpe from The Curse Workers

6. Jesse de Silva from The Mediator

5. Will from The Infernal Devices

4. Jem from The Infernal Devices

3. Jace from The Mortal Instruments

2. Ash from The Iron Fey

1. Tod Hudson from The Soul Screamers

Okay, putting it in order was hard. So, from 6-10, it is not strictly in order. It was just too hard... I mean come on, letting me choose between Will or Jace? Or Jesse and Tod? Or Ash and Jem? It was too hard, I tell you. Now if only this was real, I'd be one happy camper! :D

Top 10 Books I've Read in 2011 (+1!)

So, for today, I got to list the Top 10 Books I've Read in 2011. But I kinda cheated and placed 11. ;)

11. The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross

Yup, totally loved this book. Steampunk fan? Then read this! This book had so many cool gadgets and whatnots. Not convinced? I gave this book 5 stars here! And come on, the cover's totally drawing you in, right?

10. The Death Cure by James Dashner

A totally amazing conclusion to an epic dystopian trilogy. Do read the Maze Runner- you'll love it! It's totally action packed and filled with suspense. Heck, I even gave it 6 stars here!

9. Plague by Michael Grant

So this book is dystopian-ish, but not exactly one. But yeah, this book is filled with violence, death, blood and gore... And I totally enjoyed it. But so totally disturbing. (In a good way!)

8. Wildefire by Karsten Knight

So I totally cannot resist a good story about gods and goddesses. And this book had a totally diverse culture- you have a Polynesian and a Japanese goddess, and even a Norse god! Plus, Ashlyn is one tough chick!

7. Abandon by Meg Cabot

So how can I not include a book by Meg? I really loved Abandon as well- It was a really cool retelling of Persephone's myth, one that I really enjoyed!

6. White Cat by Holly Black

This series is so cool. Trust me. The whole curse workers thing in unbelievably amazing- plus, I love the MC, Cassel. I've always loved Holly's books, since I read the Spiderwick Chronicles- this though, is my absolute favorite.

5. Wither by Lauren DeStefano

Yet another good dystopian. This book isn't really the action/adventure type- more of romance and drama, yet it still creates a huge impact. I really loved this book!

4. Nevermore by Kelly Creagh

I loved this book. So much. It's an epic mix of fantasy, romance, suspense, humor, action... A totally amazing read. But the ending? Talk about a killer cliffhanger!

3. The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

The best book about fairies out there! Fast paced, full of adventure, and an awesome romance. Totally lived up to its hype!

2. Divergent by Veronica Roth
Yup, yet another dystopian. Can you blame me for loving this series? This was mindblowingly amazing. Definitely my favorite dystopian book.

1. If I Die by Rachel Vincent

C'mon guys. Did you really think I was gonna forget about this book? I love this series so much, you guys have no idea. Like seriously- I don't think I can wait that long for the sixth book! Did you guys know that this was the very first book I reviewed on this blog? :)

Well that was fun! Yet really difficult. In a way, I'm glad that I haven't read some really hyped-up books out there yet- like Shatter Me, Delirium, VA, Clockwork Prince- or I don't think I could have stuck with 11!
