This week, my quote comes from...

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.
This has been one of my favorite series. The Shadowhunter world is so full of action and suspense, and I love it. Plus, I love the characters Clare created! And so, here's is my quote:
"No," Jace said crossly. "The Marks are only part of it. There are tests, ordeals, levels of training-look, just forget it, okay? Stay away from my blades. In fact, don't touch any of my weapons without my permission."
"Well, there goes my plan for selling them all on eBay," Clary muttered.
"Selling them on what?"
Clary smiled blandly at him. "A mythical place of great magical power."
Aww, ignorant Jace is so cute! :D

So what was your quote this week?

  1. Haha! :D What a great quote! But can I just say that it is absolutely not fair of both Mariska and you to take a quote from that book that I want to read SO badly and post it on the same day? That's just... why couldn't you pick some boring book that I don't want to read anyway? ;D Honestly. Not. Cool. :D

But what an awesome quote! :) I think maybe this is a sign and I am supposed to buy this book soon. No matter where to get the money from :D Thanks for sharing :)

  4. Ah, a typical Jen quote. Due to my sickness I'm in a sour mood, but I knew that you'd manage to cheer me up. : D So thank you for sharing the quote with the rest of us. I really enjoyed the first three TMI novels when I read them back in the days.. Where dinosaurs still walked among us..

(Oh and about the comments.. If I left 300 comments, would that count, too, as long as they were meaningful? :>)
